Informatica strengthens ties with AWS & unveils key integrations
Wed, 29th Nov 2023

Informatica has affirmed its commitment to broadening its relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) by announcing a series of new integrations. These new partnerships build upon a successful twelve months and aim to solidify Informatica's presence within AWS, providing data of integrity for their worldwide customers' top-tier analytics and generative artificial intelligence (AI) power-driven workloads.

The integrations include a deeper association with Amazon Bedrock. Now that Bedrock is widely obtainable, Informatica is advancing to cultivate closer ties with the generative AI service. Amazon Bedrock provides easy access to foundational models from leading AI companies, streamlining the development and scaling of generative AI applications. Informatica's AI-powered, broad data management Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) will now support Amazon Bedrock. The IDMC supports a range of functions, including cataloguing, integrating, quality control and governance. This substantial tool will enable Bedrock users to significantly ameliorate the accuracy of principle generative AI usage cases.

Another integration is centred around AWS HealthLake. Informatica has gained AWS certification for IDMC's collaboration with AWS HealthLake. HealthLake is a HIPAA-eligible service designed to assist healthcare and life sciences companies in securely storing, transforming, transacting and analysing health data. Informatica's IDMC integration with HealthLake aims to provide a comprehensive 360-degree view of consumers, providers, and health plans. This holistic review is set to enhance patient engagement, optimise provider network costs and improve clinical outcomes.

Anand Sivaramakrishnan, Group Manager of Data & Analytics at Yamaha Motor Finance, commented on the enhanced cooperation, expressing, "Like every enterprise on the planet, we are actively leveraging analytics and AI to find ways to reduce overheads, increase employee productivity and better serve our customers with more simplified and tailored services. To leverage its full power and potential, our underlying data must be clean, secure and properly governed. With these powerful new integrations from Informatica with AWS, we can expect greater security, choice and performance to make the most of the transformative potential of data."

Informatica has also acquired Launch Partner status for Amazon S3 Access Grants. This new feature aids customers in managing Amazon S3 permissions for their data lakes on a large scale. IDMC and S3 Access Grants' integration simplifies self-service access to Amazon S3 data while applying enterprise-scale governance rules. To allow easy sharing and delivery of data products, different personas within an enterprise data community will be able to utilise Informatica's marketplace together with Amazon S3 access grants.

Jitesh Ghai, Chief Product Officer at Informatica, expressed his optimism about the continuing collaboration with AWS. He stated, "We are incredibly encouraged by how our collaboration with AWS continues to mature, while our combined expertise and co-innovation address our shared customers' most acute cloud, data and AI pain points. These latest integrations between IDMC and AWS will empower more customers and end users, especially those in heavily regulated industries, to confidently access, migrate and manage trusted data to streamline operations and inform more intelligent decisions for improved business outcomes."

Dr Swami Sivasubramanian, Vice President of Data and Artificial Intelligence at AWS, echoed Ghai's excitement about the ongoing partnership with Informatica and their joint commitment to improving customer experiences, remarking, "With AWS, Informatica is developing solutions that put data security and privacy at the forefront so customers can build and deploy data management and AI solutions. These solutions are the foundation of many modernisation and generative AI-powered journeys, and Informatica's latest integrations with AWS reinforce our shared commitment to maintaining a high bar in providing transformative customer experiences."
