Wed, 30th Aug 2023

In a strategic move to accelerate its growth in the digital services landscape, leading Australian digital infrastructure operator iseek has announced the appointment of industry veteran Mark Pratley as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). With three decades of industry experience under his belt, Pratley is expected to lead the company’s diversification and growth efforts.

Mark Pratley’s extensive background includes stints at tech giants like Oracle, Telstra, IBM, Kaz Group, and Advantra. While serving as Regional Director at Oracle, Pratley delivered "substantial earnings and efficiency improvements," more than doubling the company's cloud footprint to 13 regions and implementing global data-driven customer engagement programs. Before that, as General Manager for Telstra Product, he was instrumental in "driving the successful market entry into IaaS, PaaS and SaaS offerings with Telstra’s Cloud Services," a venture that saw Annualised Recurring Revenue (ARR) cross the $200 million mark within three years.

At iseek, Pratley will be overseeing "the development of channel partners and customers while also improving the company’s critical infrastructure operations across Queensland, NSW, and South Australia." His role comes at a pivotal time for the company, particularly after its recent acquisition of South Australian data centre operator YourDC.

iseek CEO Jason Gomersall expressed confidence in the appointment, stating, “Mark’s hands-on experience leading companies into new growth areas will be an asset for the business as we continue to scale and diversify our digital services offering to meet evolving customer needs.” He further highlighted that Pratley's proven capability in "translating complex customer needs into new products and features will give iseek a competitive edge in the highly dynamic digital infrastructure and services sector, increasing our value to our government and enterprise customers.”

Upon accepting the role, Mark Pratley comments, “I’m thrilled to be joining iseek as the company enters its next growth phase, following its recent acquisition of South Australian data centre operator YourDC." He emphasized the growing importance of critical infrastructure, stating, “Critical infrastructure has never been more important, and I’m passionate about building products that make a tangible difference for our enterprise and government customers. I look forward to leveraging our competitive advantages to assist more businesses to improve the flexibility, scalability, and efficiency of their digital infrastructure.”

Mark Pratley holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of New England and is expected to apply his academic background and wealth of professional experience to drive iseek's growth in the upcoming years.
