J.P. Morgan has announced a partnership with Melbourne-based Quest Payment Systems to expand its operations into the Australian retail payments sector.

J.P. Morgan has chosen Quest terminals for its Australian retail payments segment at various merchants nationwide. This collaboration leverages Quest's payment technologies alongside J.P. Morgan's banking capabilities, facilitating the integration of various emerging payment methods at checkout.

The partnership promises advanced solutions that optimise transaction processes and enhance customer experiences within retail environments. These improvements align with consumer demand for faster and more efficient payment methods.

Quest Payment Systems highlighted the collaboration as crucial for maximising operational efficiency at retail outlets by aligning their payment technology with J.P. Morgan's acquiring capabilities. As a result, retailers can anticipate more seamless payment interactions with customers.

Jan Mason, Chief Executive Officer of Quest Payment Systems, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. "We are thrilled to collaborate with J.P. Morgan Payments," Mason said. "Our mission has always been to empower businesses with the most advanced payment solutions, and by working with J.P. Morgan, we can offer unparalleled service to merchants across Australia with our Android based QT850 terminals."

Mason elaborated on the capabilities of their payment terminals, noting their design to accommodate both traditional payment methods and emerging types such as QR codes and Account-to-Account payments. "This alliance reflects our commitment to innovation and enhancing the way retailers engage with their customers," Mason added.

Bianca Bates, Head of Payments for Australia and New Zealand at J.P. Morgan, commented on the strategic importance of the collaboration. "Innovation is at the core of what we do, and our products will help merchants to thrive and grow their own businesses," Bates stated.

She further explained the potential benefits for the Australian businesses involved. "This collaboration with Quest will empower Australian businesses with the latest checkout technology, for a secure and seamless customer experience. Together, we are focused on enabling merchants to prosper by providing them with the tools they need to deliver outstanding payment services."

The partnership aims to cater to evolving consumer preferences and enable retailers to provide a modern, efficient payment service to their customers, which is expected to be advantageous in a rapidly changing retail landscape.
