Micro Focus a Leader in Forrester Wave for hybrid cloud management

Thu, 10th Dec 2020
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The Micro Focus Hybrid Cloud Management X (HCMX) solution has been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Hybrid Cloud Management, Q4 2020.

The report states that: "Reference customers praised Micro Focus for its discovery and aggregation methods, service orchestration, administrator and user dashboards, and template and workflow designers.

"Micro Focus HCMX gives IT operations teams the power to automate service delivery and offer a convenient IT service fulfilment experience for developers. Building our own software factory, we deployed HCMX to provide developers with self-service while transparently governing usage," says Micro Focus chief product officer Tom Goguen.

"We were able to reduce infrastructure and cloud costs by $1 million and redeployed $5M worth of hardware in the first year as a result. Through our own success with HCMX, as well as that of our customers, we are honoured to be named a leader in this most recent Forrester Wave for Hybrid Cloud Management.

HCMX is a cloud-native, multi-tenant cloud management solution that can run in the public cloud or on-premises, providing multi-cloud service consumption in a single view with analytics-based recommendations for discount management.

Micro Focus HCMX "is a good fit for large enterprises that require highly complex environment management," the Forrester report states.

"Customers also liked its support services, claiming good onsite support with its professional services team to train and onboard end-users in migration and in developing workload and self-service components.

451 Research (part of S-P Global Market Intelligence) research director William Fellows says, "Micro Focus Hybrid Cloud Management has been extended to provide end-to-end service fulfilment and governance across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including day 2 operation actions. It addresses public cloud overspending, slow internal resource delivery, the complexity of building and deploying hybrid IT, and the management of siloed tools.

Recently, Micro Focus made a commitment to deepen its channel commitment to partners across Asia Pacific and Japan.

Micro Focus Asia pacific and Japan president Stephen McNulti says that relationships were put to the test this year due to economic disruptions and a major shakeup to the way businesses operate. That meant Micro Focus had to take 'practical and decisive' actions.

In 2020, the company rolled out business continuity solutions to assist partners and companies through COVID-19. The Micro Focus technology portfolio covers key pillars such as hybrid IT, security, DevOps, and predictive analytics.

IT also introduced flexibility and process adjustments to its channel programme. According to the company, there was a ten-fold year-on-year increase in the virtual instructor-led training attendees and a 15% increase of certifications acquired.
