NEC today announced the appointment of Jason Price as its next President and CEO - ANZ.

Price, who will start immediately, joins NEC ANZ after a long and decorated career at IBM, where he most recently held the position of Vice President & General Manager – IBM Technology, Australia & New Zealand, leading all consolidated IBM technology business units.

Price’s announcement was made to NEC Australia staff by NEC’s Senior Vice President & Chief Commercial Office, Mitsuhiro Murooka, who said that Price’s appointment came after a thorough global search before choosing Price to continue NEC Australia’s growth and drive its strategy forward.

“On behalf of NEC Australia, we are so pleased to announce Jason as our next President and CEO – an outstanding candidate with strong technology experience across the Australia and New Zealand region,” Murooka says.

“Jason has a strong track record of growth, implementation and delivery, is a proven leader managing large teams, and we are confident he will make NEC Australia’s star continue to soar.”

Price says he is proud and humbled to be appointed to the role, and to be part of such an iconic tech brand and is looking forward to hitting the ground running.

“I feel fortunate to be joining at a time when we can capitalise on the growth opportunities available, and continue developing offerings that help ensure every Australian, no matter where they are, is ready, resilient and resolute for a digital future.

Murooka thanks Mike Mrdak for his support and steady hand during his time as Executive Chair & CEO – ANZ and confirmed that he will now be resuming his role as Chair.

“We are so pleased to continue to have Mike’s sharp and strategic mind continuing to play a role in our long-term growth strategy, as we continue to work towards orchestrating a brighter world,” Murooka says
