Netskope appoints Nathan Strong as Client Partner, Federal Government
Thu, 9th Nov 2023

Netskope, a leader in Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), has announced the appointment of cybersecurity veteran, Nathan Strong, as Client Partner, Federal Government. Strong has spent the last 25 years working within and alongside Australian Federal Government agencies, accruing considerable expertise in IT and cybersecurity, which he will bring to bear in his new role at Netskope.

Strong's portfolio with Netskope will focus primarily on managing and expanding the company's federal government clients in Australia. This continues Netskope's mission to fortify the Australian government's cybersecurity resilience using advanced technology solutions. Strong's extensive technical knowledge and his in-depth understanding of public sector requirements make him an ideal fit for the role, which will include a mix of relationship management, C-level engagement and business development, particularly for bringing on new clients within this key sector.

Strong will be working out of Canberra, where he started his career as a draftsman with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). This role allowed him to move into an IT-centric career path with the Department. After seven years gaining valuable experience within DFAT and other federal departments, Strong added to his experience profile by working in technical consulting, architecture and sales roles at notable technology companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Verizon, Palantir, and Pegasystems.

Harnessing his past experiences with federal government agencies like the Australian Federal Police, Treasury, Services Australia, Home Affairs, and the Department of Defence, Strong aims to strengthen government security. "I believe Netskope's SASE solution portfolio provides the strongest end-to-end security proposition for government agencies," Strong says. "My focus is to make advanced cybersecurity capabilities easy to consume for government agencies, ensure that ongoing operations provide excellent results, and make sure we invest in the right technology."

Tony Burnside, VP and Head of APAC at Netskope, expressed optimism about Strong's appointment. "Our work with Federal and State government agencies has grown to where it is now one of our strongest verticals across all of APAC," stated Burnside. "As we continue to see strong interest from government partners in adopting a SASE model, I'm glad that Nathan, a solid government expert, is joining our team to help our federal customers. I'm looking forward to working with Nathan to see how we can get more agencies SASE ready."
