ASX-listed leading data centre provider, NEXTDC, has announced the appointment of two senior executives to drive the company's ambitions in broadening its customer base within government and defence industries. The newly appointed leaders; Matt Holden, taking on the role of Head of Government, and Scott MacLeod, stepping into the position of Head of Government Strategy, will utilise their vast experiences within complex government and defence environments to extend NEXTDC's industry-leading solutions.

With a pronounced emphasis on Australia's evolving digital-first strategy, Holden and MacLeod are expected to extrapolate their expertise to enhance NEXTDC's customer base. Both leaders are proven figures with decades of experience in their respective fields.

Matt Holden brings over 30 years of experience in delivering data centre solutions to both enterprise and governmental customers. Having worked extensively at CBRE and Hewlett-Packard, Holden's profound knowledge of technology infrastructure and cloud systems is seen as a considerable asset. "I am excited to be joining NEXTDC at a pivotal time in the business," states Holden. He adds, "NEXTDC is uniquely positioned to provide the critical infrastructure required for the management and sovereignty of secure government systems from our locations that provide national coverage."

Scott MacLeod is an experienced professional with over 40 years within the realms of intelligence, cybersecurity government and ICT. MacLeod's impressive trajectory includes a significant role as the Head of the National Security and Defence, Solutions Architecture at AWS, a career in the Royal Australian Navy and service within the Australian Public Service. Operating from Canberra, his expertise will ensure NEXTDC's government offerings are both advanced and strategic. MacLeod asserts NEXTDC's nationwide facility coverage offers "government specificity and optionality on security, network, engineering and operational excellence."

David Dzienciol, NEXTDC Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, warmly welcomed the new members. Viewing their appointments as an expression of the firm's ambition to meet the significant demand within these key target sectors, he says, "Led by our NEXTGOV offering, we are looking to partner with government and defence, and deliver our highly secure, national digital infrastructure to meet the needs of Australia's digital-first strategy."

The appointments form part of NEXTDC's investment in supporting key governmental and defence agencies. This move is projected to ensure that the market-leading solutions remain compliant and future-ready, secured to the highest government standards. NEXTDC's facility coverage across Australia and New Zealand provides specificity and extensive options on security, network, engineering and operational excellence to match the pressing state, federal and defence digital strategies of today and the future.
