Nile introduces campus zero trust service with partners

Nile has announced the introduction of the industry's first Campus Zero Trust as a service, alongside partnerships with Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, and Microsoft.

The company revealed that its new offering, the Nile Trust Service, is intended to secure enterprise Local Area Networks (LAN) by integrating comprehensive cyber security measures into its existing network solutions. This aims to eliminate the need for organisations to amalgamate various add-on products to achieve a robust security framework.

Pankaj Patel, Co-Founder and CEO of Nile, explained the challenges faced by organisations striving to implement microsegmentation with traditional network architectures. He stated, "Achieving microsegmentation today means duct-taping many different technologies to a 30-year-old network architecture. This makes attaining Campus Zero Trust difficult or even impossible for many organisations. The Nile Trust Service is the latest example of how Nile's unrelenting drive towards simplification enables new organisations to achieve a level of security not previously thought possible."

Nile's solution is described as a modern integrated approach to LAN security, blending hardware and software capabilities to prevent lateral movement attacks and offering automatic updates to maintain security integrity. In addition to its internal developments, Nile has formed strategic partnerships with Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, and Microsoft Entra to enhance security service edge (SSE) integration.

Continuing to highlight the benefits of the new service, Patel added, "By establishing a strong foundation with security at its core, we are now focused on building upon it with advanced security functionalities. The launch of the Nile Trust Service represents the beginning of what is possible when security is integrated by design, reducing operational burdens and unlocking the full potential of a truly secure network fabric."

The Nile Trust Service comprises several security features. Zero Trust Infrastructure provides built-in defence mechanisms for Nile's hardware and software, aiming to eliminate common vulnerabilities and enforce end-to-end encryption across communications. Each device or user is allocated a 'segment of one' to curb the spread of potential threats.

The Zero Trust Access component leverages identity measures, such as single sign-on and multi-factor authentication, to control device access. A continuous re-verification process helps ensure that user or device behaviour remains consistent with expected operations.

Zero Trust Policy further enhances the system by providing fine-grained traffic controls, extensive firewall support, and universal policies applicable to both in-office and remote users. It delivers an adaptive solution that can respond quickly to any anomalies or threats by implementing granular microsegmentation rules.

Nile aims to redefine security delivery through the introduction of Universal Zero Trust, enabled by its partnerships with notable SSE providers. This marks a shift towards cloud-based security solutions for organisations striving for robust network protection.

The Nile Trust Service is now generally available, offering enterprises an opportunity to bolster their network security seamlessly through integrated and comprehensive measures.
