Quest releases updated data intelligence & modelling tools
Quest Software has introduced new versions of its erwin Data Intelligence and erwin Data Modeler solutions, aiming to address the demand for high-quality data critical for AI applications. The updated products offer advanced data intelligence, quality, and modelling capabilities, and are designed to help organisations manage and govern data more effectively.
The 2023 State of Data Intelligence Report identified data quality and visibility as significant challenges for enterprises. Preliminary findings from the forthcoming 2024 report, due in October, suggest that data quality monitoring remains a top-three challenge for organisations. Quest's latest release seeks to address these issues by managing the entire data lifecycle comprehensively.
Bharath Vasudevan, Vice President of Product at Quest Software, stated, "Data is the lifeblood of modern enterprises, and as AI becomes more ingrained in our business processes, every enterprise must confront the critical question: 'Is my data AI-ready?'"
He added, "The new Quest solutions offer a comprehensive approach to data management, from modelling to governance, and empower organisations to unlock the full potential of their data, ensuring it is accurate, compliant, and optimised for the advanced insights AI can deliver."
Key features of the new releases include AI/ML-powered data quality and observability, flexible cloud deployment options, and enhanced data modelling and governance capabilities.
The erwin Data Intelligence 14 solution features an enhanced data quality and observability framework powered by AI and machine learning. This framework continuously monitors the health of data across platforms, using advanced anomaly detection to ensure that data supporting AI models remains reliable and accurate. The solution's self-learning capabilities further enhance its effectiveness as it evolves to meet the organisation's changing needs.
The erwin Data Intelligence Cloud offers flexible deployment options, allowing organisations to choose between on-premises, privately hosted, or cloud-hosted solutions via Microsoft Azure. This flexibility aims to lower the total cost of ownership and improve scalability without compromising functionality.
erwin Data Modeler 14 has introduced new features to streamline data modelling processes. These include improved integration with modern data platforms, enhanced user interface customisation, and advanced reverse engineering capabilities for NoSQL platforms. These enhancements are intended to make it easier for organisations to design, manage, and optimise their data architectures, ensuring robust and compliant data models.
Additionally, erwin Data Modeler 14 offers enhanced support for NoSQL databases, improved denormalisation processes, and seamless integration with platforms like PostgreSQL and Google BigQuery. These updates are designed to allow more efficient data management and ensure diverse data environments can be easily managed and optimised.
The new consumer-friendly data quality discovery features in erwin Data Intelligence 14 provide an intuitive search and filter experience similar to online shopping sites. This feature and a customisable analytics dashboard enable users to explore data quality metrics more easily, enhancing data trust and accelerating decision-making across the organisation.
Vasudevan highlighted the strategic importance of these enhancements, stating, "At the core of this offering is our commitment to transforming data into strategic assets. By providing powerful tools for data modelling and intelligence and adhering to our rigorous 'model to marketplace' approach, Quest enables enterprises to ensure their data is well-structured, compliant, and readily accessible and actionable across the organisation."
