SAP Boosts Channel Strategy with New Channel Chief

Fri, 4th Aug 2023

SAP, a global leader in software solutions, announced significant changes to its leadership team in Australia and New Zealand. Ashley McGibbon has been appointed to the role of Chief Partner Officer, and Sofiane Ainine will assume the position of Executive General Manager (EGM), Growth Market, SAP Australia and New Zealand.

McGibbon, taking over the role from the retiring Mark Hettler, will be at the forefront of driving SAP's cloud strategy across the partner ecosystem in Australia and New Zealand. She brings a wealth of experience from her time at SAP, having been with the company since 2012. Her previous role as General Manager, Growth Markets included working across all areas of SAP’s business, like midmarket, channel, services, and sales.

Commenting on McGibbon's appointment, Damien Bueno, President and Managing Director SAP Australia and New Zealand, says, “With Ashley’s renowned enthusiasm and results-driven approach, we will reimagine our expanding ecosystem relationships, as we progress our cloud strategy in Australia and New Zealand to deliver the needs of our customers.”

Sofiane Ainine's focus will be on helping midsize organizations across Australia and New Zealand, working closely with the reseller community. His passion for the midmarket sector aligns with SAP’s recent cloud offering for midsize enterprises, GROW with SAP. The initiative aims to equip midsize organizations with flexible, agile tools for effective management in a fiercely competitive and often unpredictable market.

Bueno further adds about Ainine's role, “With Sofiane focused on a large and important segment of Australian and New Zealand organisations, collaborating with the experienced and passionate reseller community, we can help midmarket leaders navigate this increasingly competitive business environment. Our partner strategy is the foundation for a strong and mutually beneficial collaboration that will continue to deliver incredible results for our customers.”

These appointments are critical steps in SAP’s ongoing mission to ensure the success of their customer-centric approach and bolster the company's presence in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
