Speedpanel halves admin time with SugarCRM for project gains

Fri, 25th Jul 2025

Speedpanel has reported measurable improvements in efficiency and compliance following a deployment of SugarCRM's Sell platform.

The Australian manufacturer, which designs and supplies fire-rated and acoustic wall systems, has seen its administrative cycle time reduced by up to 50% and enhanced customer experience through improved project management processes.

Project management gains

According to Speedpanel, the introduction of Sugar Sell has enabled its teams to collaborate more easily with architects, builders, and other internal departments by providing a single platform for logging meetings, calls, notes, and installation reviews. This consolidation means each aspect of a project, from initial design contact through to final install review, is now tracked in one place.

The firm reports that these changes have resulted in up to 30 hours saved per month per project manager, with streamlined project reviews and faster issue resolution. Issue turnaround times have been reduced by an average of two to three days per project.

An additional benefit highlighted by Speedpanel is its use of real-time, on-site reporting, which has replaced earlier processes that required project managers to use a series of separate software tools. The review process, now handled entirely within SugarCRM, has improved both visibility and outcomes for staff and customers alike.

Compliance and data

Speedpanel says it can now pinpoint recurring non-conformities and knowledge gaps among installers, builders, and specific regions. This new data-driven approach allows the company to tailor learning content and directly address weaknesses identified during installation or post-installation reviews.

"With our expansion and growth, it became essential to adopt a robust platform that offered real-time automation, clear visibility into team activities, and timely updates on interactions with stakeholders and builders across different regions and projects," said Peter Lorenc, National Sales and Marketing Manager at Speedpanel. "Sugar Sell has ushered in a new era of efficiency and data-driven consistency across our operations."

Previously, post-installation reviews required effort across multiple siloed systems. Now, with SugarCRM, staff can manage the entire review process in a single environment, which has become a standard part of Speedpanel's service.

Outcomes for manufacturing

The deployment of next-generation CRM technology is reportedly part of Speedpanel's response to the challenges faced by the manufacturing sector, including increasing regulatory pressure, complex supply chains, and a limited skilled talent pool. The company has been operating in Australia for over 25 years and continues to expand its national footprint.

James Frampton, Chief Revenue Officer at SugarCRM, described the results Speedpanel has achieved with the platform:

"With Sugar, Speedpanel has transformed operations and accelerated growth. Speedpanel is a perfect example of how Sugar can turn complexity into clarity and unlock huge gains in speed, accuracy, and teamwork."

Speedpanel's deployment demonstrates that CRM systems can deliver measurable operational gains by consolidating project data, automating administrative tasks, and enabling a rapid response to compliance requirements and customer queries. These operational improvements are seen as contributing to a more responsive and cohesive manufacturing process, with waste and delays significantly reduced across projects.
