True Alliance taps Celonis & TEC150 for procurement overhaul
True Alliance has collaborated with Celonis and TEC150 to make significant enhancements to its procurement controls and system transformation.
Sydney-based True Alliance, a distributor for several major retail brands, sought to address ongoing challenges in its procure-to-pay processes. As part of this objective, the company engaged Celonis, a process mining company, and TEC150, its implementation partner in Australia.
Procurement process review
True Alliance Chief Executive Officer Roni Perlov outlined the company's approach. "We gave TEC150 (Celonis' implementation partner in Australia) access to our system to extract the relevant data. They looked at our standard processes, where there were deviations and where they were coming from. Within a couple of weeks we had a report that was very insightful."
The data analysed by TEC150 allowed True Alliance to observe its workflows in detail, surpassing the limitations of previous internal reviews.
Perlov added that Celonis's capability to provide an objective, real-time perspective on workflow was a key differentiator. "This is invaluable, particularly in supporting our audit requirements and system transformation. Celonis, with the support of TEC150, enables us to operate with greater confidence, maximise the value from new technologies such as AI, and deliver a better user experience for our customers."
System transformation support
Celonis' Process Intelligence Platform is now used by True Alliance within its core procurement function, targeting compliance, auditing, and internal controls. The organisation uses Celonis' Procurement Execution App to create a digital twin of procurement processes. This digital twin helps True Alliance continuously monitor activity against predefined policies, simplifies audit preparation, and provides evidence of compliance.
The platform also identifies deviations from standard policies and procedures. According to True Alliance, this function highlights opportunities to strengthen internal controls and proactively address potential risks, reducing the need for manual oversight.
Pascal Coubard, Vice President of Asia Pacific at Celonis, said: "Our Process Intelligence platform is uniquely positioned to provide the deep process insights True Alliance needs to enhance compliance, strengthen controls, and support critical transformation projects, ensuring their operations run with the highest standards of governance. As they look to the future, Celonis Process Intelligence will enable them to maximize the ROI of their AI deployments."
Celonis will also play a central role in supporting True Alliance's S/4HANA transformation by providing a clear understanding of current processes. These insights will help True Alliance validate that the newly implemented system meets business requirements and functions as intended.
Compliance in finance
In addition to procurement, True Alliance is evaluating Celonis as a platform for broader compliance applications within Finance. Use cases include duplicate invoice checking, monitoring payment terms, reducing ageing credit memos, and ensuring compliance with Goods and Services Tax regulations.
The company, established in 1982, distributes high-profile global brands such as Speedo, The North Face, and Lacoste in the Australian and New Zealand markets. With its core event-driven processes now underpinned by a data-driven approach, True Alliance aims to strengthen business controls as it targets key markets such as North America, where it believes brands and retailers tend to make swifter business decisions.
