UPI speeds up new business strategy with BPA Platform integration
Tue, 23rd Apr 2024

United Pacific Industries (UPI), an Australian healthcare company, has employed Codeless Platforms’ BPA Platform as an integration and automation solution between Shopify and SYSPRO. This strategic implementation has facilitated a reduction in manual data processing and expedited the realisation of UPI's new business strategy.

During its most recent strategic appraisal, UPI determined the necessity of launching a new B2C channel to make its Thermoskin products directly available to consumers. Consequently, a new website on Shopify was created, which needed to be connected to their existing ERP system, SYSPRO.

Fenella Brown, Marketing Manager at United Pacific Industries, shared, “Historically, our business has mainly been selling our products into pharmacies. We sell through wholesalers, who then sell them to individual pharmacies. However, when COVID happened, we looked at our business strategy for the next five years and we realised we are heavily reliant on the pharmacy channel. Therefore, one of our biggest objectives was to diversify our channels.”

BPA Platform has now taken charge of automating a multitude of data transfers between SYSPRO and the new Shopify website. This includes daily product queries into SYSPRO, which focuses on Thermoskin products, with price and stock availability data being exported to Shopify. BPA Platform also handles the synchronisation of customer accounts as well as partial or full cancellation of orders, refunds, or returns.

Moreover, the BPA Platform is the driving force behind the synchronisation of all sales orders from the Shopify web store to SYSPRO. It monitors Shopify at five-minute intervals, and any orders received are imported into SYSPRO as sales order documents. BPA Platform even looks out for orders that have been dispatched in SYSPRO, updating Shopify with fulfilment and proof of delivery, which Shopify then uses to inform their customers.

Brown further explained the integration's impact, stating, “The main thing that BPA Platform is doing is automatically pulling through all of the new direct consumer orders from the website into SYSPRO. From an admin perspective, that has removed a lot of the manual work that was occurring, especially as it is a two-way process in terms of the information we are managing.”

As a result of the integration, the UPI business strategy materialised quicker than expected, and further opportunities to broaden its online presence have surfaced. Brown said, “Without connecting SYSPRO to these new websites, we may not be where we are today. It’s been a very needed part of that process. BPA Platform basically sped up the ability to launch our website. We have also been able to launch a couple of other websites for our much smaller brands.”

Looking forward, the company plans to enrich its new website with a wholesale portal, focusing on allied health professionals who will be able to procure products at wholesale prices. This prospect would not have been considered were it not for the integration solution provided by BPA Platform.

The successful implementation of Codeless Platforms’ BPA Platform at United Pacific Industries highlights the transformative power of integration and automation solutions in streamlining business processes and achieving strategic objectives. By seamlessly connecting Shopify and SYSPRO, UPI has significantly reduced manual data processing, accelerated its new B2C channel launch, and opened doors to further expansion opportunities. As UPI continues to leverage the capabilities of the BPA Platform, it underscores the importance of innovative technology in driving efficiency and growth in the healthcare industry.
