Wed, 5th Jul 2023

Zepto, a front-runner in account-to-account payments infrastructure, has made a groundbreaking appointment by bringing Rich Miller on board as their new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Miller, who is joining Zepto, boasts an illustrious career including a stint as the CTO at Prospa, a fintech that specializes in small business lending and is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). Furthermore, he held the position of CTO at Willow, a firm renowned for developing digital twins for the built world.

Chris Jewell, the CEO of Zepto, couldn’t hide his excitement regarding Miller’s appointment. He says, “Rich's proven track record of driving technological innovation, building great engineering teams, and his unwavering commitment to excellence makes him the ideal leader to guide our company's technology strategy and future growth. We are thrilled to have him join at such a pivotal phase in our journey as we pioneer positive change for Australia’s real-time payments landscape.”

Rich Miller is equally thrilled about his new role. He states, “Zepto’s bold vision to create a world class technology company, its strong innovation culture, its people-first values, and commitment to fostering a safe and secure payments experience are what attracted me to this role. I’m excited to embark on this journey and help take Australia's first non-bank NPP-connected institution to new heights as we continue to transform the Australian payments ecosystem.”

Miller's appointment comes on the heels of a series of achievements for Zepto. Notably, in May 2023, the company was honored as the FinTech Organisation of the Year at The Australian Fintech Awards. This was closely followed by the announcement of a partnership with Woolworths Group’s payment firm Wpay, aimed at empowering its PayTo enabled pay-from-bank-account payment method.

Rich Miller, who has over three decades of industry experience, has predominantly worked with startups and scaleups as a software engineer, security consultant, and CTO. Since 2015, he has dedicated his focus to fintech, especially in cultivating scalable teams with a robust culture. His experience and dedication will undoubtedly be an asset to Zepto in its ambitious mission to revolutionize the Australian payments landscape.
