Zoho's ManageEngine positioned in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant

By Ryan Morris-Reade
Tue 21 Sep 2021

ManageEngine has announced it's been positioned in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Endpoint Management Tools.

ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corporation, has been named a Niche Player in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) Tools. The recognition is based on the evaluation of ManageEngine's flagship UEM software, Desktop Central, for its ability to execute and completeness of vision. ManageEngine was included in the Magic Quadrant alongside seven other vendors.

UEM is a class of software tools providing a single management interface for mobile, PC and other devices. It's an evolution of, and replacement for, mobile device management, enterprise mobility management, and client management tools.

"The need for a unified tool to manage and secure employees' devices is at an all-time high, as more and more organisations tackle a hybrid workforce fast-tracked into adoption by the pandemic," says ManageEngine vice president, Mathivanan Venkatachalam.

"This recognition by Gartner validates our alignment with our customer's requirements and our delivery of integrated device management and security."

The Desktop Central product is designed to automate day-to-day device management activities across highly heterogeneous device and OS ecosystems, from onboarding to retirement. It delivers remote support and endpoint security requirements that the company says go beyond traditional and modern device management capabilities. This approach eliminates the need for multiple siloed tools for different requirements.

Desktop Central integrates with a wide range of IT management and security tools offered by ManageEngine and third parties. The UEM solution is designed to fit into a customers' existing IT ecosystem.

"ManageEngine's Desktop Central is a comprehensive tool to centralise your endpoint management across Windows, macOS and Linux machines," says an IT security manager in a Gartner Peer Insights review.

"It offers operating system and third-party patch management with automation capabilities to test and deploy patches. Desktop Central provides visibility via standard and custom reports and great support services."

ManageEngine is expanding across the globe steadily and continues to strengthen its regional support and implementation services.

About Desktop Central
Desktop Central is a UEM solution for managing and securing diversified device deployments, from servers, desktops, laptops, mobile phones and tablets to POS machines, OEMConfig devices and other IoT endpoints. It provides heterogeneous OS support, end-to-end life cycle management of traditional and modern devices, remote support, and endpoint security capabilities using a single agent and workflow.

The product is available both on-premises and as a SaaS tool. Desktop Central is used by more than 17,000 enterprises globally and integrates with many third-party ITSM and IAM tools.
