Commvault and Alibaba Cloud Join Forces to foster digital transformation initiatives
Commvault has announced a partnership with Alibaba Cloud that will see the two companies deliver a set of jointly marketed hybrid cloud data management solutions.
Commvault and Alibaba Cloud say the offerings are designed to enable businesses to make their move to the cloud with greater ease and security.

Commvault and Alibaba cloud will partner on the joint delivery of:
- New feature integrations: Customers will be able to use the computing and data processing capabilities of Alibaba Cloud, securely managed and accessed on Commvault's unified data management platform.
- Advanced centralized support: Alibaba Cloud customers will be able to leverage advanced technical support at all stages of their cloud migration journey, powered by Commvault's best in class data experts from engineering and customer support teams.
- New personalized offerings: The two companies say the partnership agreement will serve as a platform for knowledge-transfer, including customer and partner evaluations and feedback, enabling Commvault and Alibaba Cloud to continue developing 'innovative offerings and upgrades' that support rapidly evolving business requirements in today's digital landscape.
Commvault vice president of worldwide partnerships and market development Owen Taraniuk says the two companies have complementary strengths that will enable customers in their hybrid cloud journeys.

According to Gartner, Alibaba Cloud is among the world's top three IaaS providers, is China's largest provider of public cloud services and - according to IDC - the number four player globally in the IaaS market by revenue in 2017.
Both companies say the partnership will be significant as big data/analytics, mobile and cloud are proving to be some of the leading business revenue drivers in recent times, with data availability and visibility important aspects within this.
