DuploCloud launches cost-effective observability suite

Fri, 22nd Nov 2024

DuploCloud has introduced its Advanced Observability Suite, a solution aimed at providing deep application insights without the high costs usually linked with such tools.

Many of the market's observability tools operate on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, where pricing is determined by the volume of data ingested. This often results in costs that exceed what customers spend on cloud services, making it difficult for organisations to see a justified return on their investment. DuploCloud's approach with the Advanced Observability Suite (AOS) allows customers to fine-tune infrastructure costs by adjusting factors like cold storage and availability zones.

The AOS is fully set up and customised during the onboarding process, providing a wide range of integrations. These integrations help developers optimise application performance, ensure security, and derive meaningful insights from extensive data collections.

The suite incorporates several features, including Application Performance Monitoring, which offers actionable telemetry to identify bottlenecks and maintain smooth application performance. Custom Metrics Collection lets users define metrics pertinent to their environment, aiding in the creation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with business decisions.

Advanced Troubleshooting with Traces and Logs facilitates the identification of root causes for errors by correlating data across systems. End-to-End Observability ensures comprehensive monitoring across the application stack, while Real-Time Alerting automates responses to issues. Custom Dashboards provide tailored insights into aspects like Service Health and App Performance.

Venkat Thiruvengadam, Founder and CEO of DuploCloud, stated, "Observability solutions have been available in the open source community for many years, but the key drawback has been the ability to manage the complex stack with in-house resources. While SaaS-based observability solutions solved that problem, the pricing model is prohibitive. With the advent of Kubernetes and OpenTelemetry, the management problem of a self-hosted stack can be solved efficiently without paying the 'SaaS Tax.'"

Darma Muthiayen, CTO of Learn To Win, commented on the suite's advantages for security compliance: "At Learn To Win, we serve a diverse set of customers, including the Department of Defense and leading Commercial companies. The DuploCloud Advanced Observability Suite has been instrumental in helping us maintain the stringent security and compliance requirements of these highly regulated industries. The suite's deep application insights, combined with its robust security features, give us the visibility and control we need to ensure the integrity of our platform. It's a scalable, cost-effective solution that aligns perfectly with our operational needs."

For organisations deploying cloud-native applications, balancing speed, scale, and security often necessitates customised infrastructure solutions. DuploCloud's platform automates infrastructure management, enabling developers to concentrate on application building without operational complexity.

Brad Fino, Senior Director of TechOps at Shasta Cloud, shared his experience: "With DuploCloud's Advanced Observability Suite, our team has been able to streamline operations and troubleshoot issues faster than ever before. The platform's comprehensive insights and user-friendly customization options allow us to be proactive in managing our application performance and reliability across our cloud infrastructure."

Additionally, DuploCloud offers continuous expert support and no-code/low-code automation to accelerate time-to-market and reduce costs, ensuring infrastructure adheres to key compliance standards. The Advanced Observability Suite is an available enhancement to DuploCloud's DevOps Automation Platform.
