Healix International launches Melbourne office to boost APAC growth
Healix International has opened a new office in Melbourne, Australia, in a move designed to enhance its operations and presence across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
The establishment of the Melbourne office represents what the company describes as a significant milestone in its broader plans for the APAC market. Healix International has cited the growing demand in the region as a key driver behind the expansion and highlighted an intention to capitalise on business opportunities in a market it characterises as among the fastest growing globally.
The new office forms part of Healix International's three-hub regional operating model, which spans Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), the Americas, and Asia-Pacific. According to the company, this model is designed to enable improved support for operations throughout the region, enhance time zone coverage, and help deliver more efficient services to clients and partners. The Melbourne location will operate alongside the company's existing office in New Zealand.
Healix International has previously operated in Australia through partnerships but is now seeking to develop regional capabilities further by recruiting local talent. The firm has confirmed plans to fill roles in its security and medical teams, including positions such as security analysts, security managers, incident coordinators, and nurses.
Commenting on the opening of the Melbourne office, James Henderson, Chief Executive Officer of Healix International, said:
"Expanding into Australia marks a pivotal step in our strategic growth across the Asia-Pacific region. Melbourne's strong economy, skilled workforce, and regional connectivity make it an ideal hub for us to better serve our clients and partners as we look to build our market share. The city has deep expertise in key areas we care about, such as tech, professional services, and security as we look to recruit local talent with local knowledge to fill essential positions to build a strong team. Our operations in Melbourne will also significantly boost our current offering in New Zealand and will ensure that we continue to deliver consistent, around-the-clock support across time zones. We're excited to invest in the city and deepen our commitment to delivering high-quality, risk-managed solutions across the region."
The company, established in the United Kingdom in 1992 by Dr Paul Beven and Dr Peter Mason, initially provided medical assistance services based on clinical expertise. Healix International is headquartered in Esher, Surrey, and remains independently owned. Its services now include security risk management, travel risk solutions, emergency assistance, and medical support.
The firm operates offices in the United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, and the United States, in addition to its newest Australian premises.
Healix International has stated that recruiting local employees is an important component of its strategy to enhance management of regulatory, operational, and people-related risks. The approach is expected to strengthen its position in the region and improve service delivery for a growing client base spanning governments, NGOs, international corporations, major insurers, and other organisations.
The new office is located at JustCo Emporium, Level 4, 287 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000. The Melbourne-based team currently includes Tom Scriven Baker, Regional Security Manager for APAC; Samuel Reynolds and Rani Lugg, both Junior Security Coordinators for APAC; and Dan Madden, Regional Security Coordinator.
