Hydrix wins AUD $3.4 million Remedy Robotics contract

Hydrix has secured an AUD $3.4 million engineering development contract with Remedy Robotics, expanding the Australian company's existing multi-year relationship with the US robotics developer.

Under the contract, Hydrix will support development of Remedy's N1 robotic platform for endovascular intervention. The work will cover safety-critical software, embedded electronics and verification-ready hardware input, with revenue to be recognised progressively in FY2027.

Delivered on a time-and-materials basis, the contract is expected to generate about AUD $3.4 million in revenue for Hydrix based on the agreed scope of work. That figure is more than half of the company's current market capitalisation.

Remedy is developing the N1 System as an AI-enabled robotic platform for cardiovascular intervention. The system is designed to allow experienced clinicians to carry out complex endovascular procedures with greater precision and from remote locations.

The latest agreement builds on recent development work between the two companies and broadens Hydrix's role in the platform's engineering program. The arrangement strengthens Hydrix's position as an engineering partner in medical robotics, a segment of the medical technology market that has attracted rising investment.

Market research group Grand View Research estimates the US advanced medical robotics market at USD $3.84 billion, with projected compound annual growth of 13.1% from 2026 to 2033. That backdrop has driven companies involved in robotic intervention systems and related medical device engineering into closer partnerships as they move products toward clinical testing.

Hydrix operates across product design, engineering, defence technologies, medical distribution and investments in health and defence technology ventures. Through its services arm, it works on regulated medical devices, including Class II and Class III products, as well as projects in the industrial, mining and defence sectors.

For Remedy, the focus remains on endovascular treatment, where access to specialist intervention is often limited outside major metropolitan centres. The company has been working with clinicians globally, including in Australia through a clinical partnership with the Australian Stroke Alliance.

Remedy said the N1 platform is part of a broader effort to widen access to stroke and cardiovascular treatment regardless of patient location. Based in San Francisco, the company says it holds 48 patents covering its platform, including patents related to machine learning in surgical robotics.

Dr David Bell, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Remedy Robotics, described the medical challenge the company is targeting.

"Access to specialist endovascular intervention remains one of the greatest challenges in cardiovascular care, particularly for patients outside major metropolitan centres. The agreement also gives Hydrix another reference point in a specialist part of the medtech engineering market, where smaller design and development firms often work behind the scenes on software, electronics and compliance tasks for device makers. Such work can provide recurring revenue over long development cycles, particularly as projects move from prototype stages toward verification and clinical preparation.
