Milestone appoints Peter Bartzios for South Pacific
Wed, 28th Oct 2026 (Today)
Milestone Systems has appointed Peter Bartzios as Key Account Manager for the South Pacific, expanding its coverage of major enterprise and critical infrastructure customers in the region.
Based in Sydney, Bartzios will work with large end users, builders, consultants and the company's partner network. His role covers major accounts, complex security projects and infrastructure operators with long planning cycles and multiple stakeholders.
He brings about three decades of experience in the security sector, with a background in strategic sales, integrated security platforms and enterprise systems. His previous work included large infrastructure opportunities such as the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport Line.
The appointment comes as video systems are increasingly being considered alongside access control, analytics and other security and business systems. In larger projects, buyers often want systems that can be introduced in stages, connect with existing technology and operate across multiple sites.
Bartzios will focus on building relationships with customers and advisers earlier in the planning process. The aim is to bring video requirements into project design sooner, particularly where organisations expect sites to expand or operating needs to change over time.
For infrastructure operators and large enterprises, early planning can affect how surveillance, monitoring and operational oversight are integrated across a broader estate. It can also shape how technology choices are made between contractors, consultants, operators and internal security teams.
Jordan Cullis, Director for South Pacific and Country Manager at Milestone Systems, said Bartzios' experience would help the business support customers on more complex engagements.
"Major infrastructure and enterprise projects require a clear understanding of the customer's operating environment, the different stakeholders involved and how technology will support their needs over many years," Cullis said.
"Peter brings three decades of industry experience and a strong understanding of integrated security. He knows how to work with end users, consultants, builders and technology partners to connect those requirements with practical solutions. His appointment adds further depth to our South Pacific team as we build our presence among major accounts and support partners pursuing significant projects."
Regional focus
The South Pacific market includes a mix of transport, utilities, public sector and commercial projects that often require coordination between physical security, operations and compliance teams. Suppliers of video management software have been seeking closer involvement in these projects as customers look for systems that can work across different hardware and software environments.
Milestone's approach centres on open-platform video management, allowing organisations to combine video software, cameras, analytics and related technology from different suppliers. In practice, this can appeal to customers that want to avoid replacing all existing equipment at once or need to support varied site conditions across a large estate.
For major infrastructure owners, the issue is not only security coverage but also consistency. Operators may need common standards across stations, depots, offices or industrial sites while still accommodating older systems, local requirements and separate procurement decisions made over a project's life.
Bartzios said those operational realities had shaped his view of security projects over time.
"The projects I have worked on have reinforced how important it is to understand the whole environment - the people, the infrastructure, the operational pressures and the systems that need to work together," Bartzios said.
"Customers need technology that addresses their immediate security challenges while giving them room to adapt. Video has an important role to play, both in protecting people and assets and in helping teams understand what is happening across complex sites. I look forward to working with Milestone's customers and partners across the South Pacific to build those relationships and help translate their requirements into lasting outcomes."
His appointment reflects Milestone's emphasis on larger and more complex accounts in the South Pacific, where suppliers are increasingly expected to work with consultants, builders and operators rather than only with security installers. In these environments, account management often depends as much on stakeholder coordination and project timing as on the underlying software.
Based in Sydney, Bartzios will be responsible for developing those relationships across the region and working with customers on long-term infrastructure and enterprise security requirements.
