Mother's Day gift ideas span home appliances & tech

Thu, 16th Apr 2026

Sunbeam, adidas and Canon have put forward a range of Mother's Day gift options spanning home appliances, sports footwear and imaging devices.

The selection includes electric bedding, kitchen appliances, coffee equipment, netball shoes, cameras and compact printers, with prices ranging from AUD $139 to AUD $1,399. It targets several shopper groups, including those looking for gifts centred on home comfort, cooking, fitness and photography.

Home range

Sunbeam's proposed products sit at the home and kitchen end of the market. The Sleep Perfect Quilted Electric Blanket Queen is listed at AUD $279 and features dual heat controls, quilted cotton fabric and temperature adjustment designed to respond to both the user and the room.

Also in the range is the Multi Zone Air Fryer Oven at AUD $299. It can be used as a single 11.4-litre cooking zone or split into two 5.5-litre zones, with Sync and Match settings designed to help coordinate cooking times across dishes.

At the upper end of Sunbeam's offer is the Origins Classic Espresso Machine at AUD $649. It includes a built-in conical burr grinder, a 58mm group head, a steam wand and a one-button cleaning function, placing it in the increasingly crowded at-home coffee segment.

Another Sunbeam option is the French Riviera Kettle and Toaster Set, priced at AUD $279. The set has a matte metallic finish, glow illumination, seven browning settings and a QuickCheck feature.

Sports option

adidas is represented by a single footwear product, the NETCOURT PRO Netball Shoe, priced at AUD $160. The product description highlights how netball shoes differ from running shoes, with an emphasis on lateral stability rather than forward motion.

The shoe uses reinforced side walls and a firmer midsole to help contain the foot during quick changes of direction. That reflects the demands of netball, where pivoting and side-to-side movement place different stresses on footwear than road running or gym training.

Canon devices

Canon's contribution centres on printing and photography. The SELPHY CP1500 Photo Printer is listed at AUD $199 and is designed for users who want small-format prints from smartphones, tablets, cameras or USB devices.

The PIXMA TR7160, priced at AUD $139, is the lowest-cost item in the selection. It is positioned as a compact multifunction printer for home use, with support for document and photo printing from smartphones or computers, plus an automatic document feeder.

At the top of Canon's list is the EOS R50 at AUD $1,399. The camera is described as lightweight at 375g and aimed at travel and content creation, reflecting demand for devices that support both casual photography and social media video.

Canon also included the Selphy QX20 at AUD $249. The portable dye-sublimation printer supports both card-size and square prints, in bordered or borderless formats, and uses a protective overcoat designed to guard against water, dirt and fading.

Gift market

The selection offers a snapshot of the broadening consumer electronics and home appliance market around seasonal gift buying. Rather than focusing on a single price point or category, it stretches from practical household devices to more discretionary purchases such as coffee machines and interchangeable-lens cameras.

That spread also reflects how Mother's Day retailing has moved beyond traditional flowers and confectionery toward lifestyle products tied to daily routines and hobbies. Here, the gift ideas are grouped loosely around relaxation, cooking, sport and preserving memories.

Price positioning varies sharply across the list. Entry-level items such as the PIXMA TR7160 and SELPHY CP1500 sit below AUD $200, while mid-range products include the electric blanket, air fryer, kettle and toaster set, and portable printer. The EOS R50 and espresso machine sit at the higher end of the selection.

Several products also point to ongoing retail themes in the Australian market, including compact kitchen appliances, devices that connect easily with smartphones, and products marketed around convenience and versatility. Portable and small-footprint devices feature heavily, from Canon's printers to Sunbeam's countertop appliances.

No sales targets or distribution figures were provided with the product details. The list was presented as a set of retail options for editorial consideration, with recommended retail prices ranging from AUD $139 for the Canon PIXMA TR7160 to AUD $1,399 for the Canon EOS R50.
