Progress unveils Sitefinity with Next.js support & Gen AI
Progress has announced the introduction of new capabilities and enhancements to its Sitefinity platform, including native support for the React framework, Next.js.
The features of the latest Sitefinity release are designed to accelerate the delivery of digital experiences through out-of-the-box native support for Next.js and Gen AI-powered content workflows. This update enables organisations to leverage one of the fastest growing frontend frameworks, providing developers with resources to create contemporary digital experiences.
Loren Jarrett, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Digital Experience at Progress, stated: "Developers want to use their technology of choice when building digital experiences, and Sitefinity is now the right solution for React developers in addition to .NET developers. The addition of Next.js support in Sitefinity underscores our commitment to embracing the latest frontend technologies and puts more power and choice in the hands of our customers to create world-class digital experiences."
The platform allows customers the flexibility to choose between two prominent frontend frameworks, Next.js and ASP.NET Core, thus empowering Microsoft and JavaScript developers to use the best technology that suits their project requirements and expertise level. The Sitefinity platform features seamless content management experiences via its hybrid headless architecture, providing widget selection, design, templating, and visual page composition with a patented technology-agnostic editor.
Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) is an early adopter of the new Sitefinity release. By using Next.js capabilities, RWWA successfully consolidated 12 websites into a single digital platform. Richard Quance, Head of Content at RWWA, commented: "Our goal was to connect our extensive racing content and data in a more meaningful way. The Next.js capabilities within Sitefinity proved to be a critical enabler for us to create a cohesive, rich customer experience that better serves our online audience."
Connie Bristow-Stagg, Product Owner at RWWA, highlighted the efficiencies gained, saying: "The time taken to build components was reduced by 30-50% compared to before, due to the rapid development practices and not needing to use both frontend and backend resources. Furthermore, the new platform offers more accurate searches for Racing WA's user base. Cost savings are also there as Racing WA doesn't have to use development partners to create new pages anymore, and content does not have to be posted three or four times on different sites."
Additional features of Sitefinity 15.2 include Gen AI-powered low-code workflows, enabling editors to utilise AI services for content optimisation and customisable business user interfaces that use micro-apps within Sitefinity's SaaS platform. These enhancements allow the tailoring of organisational processes while maintaining continuous upgradeability.
Sitefinity is a cloud-based, AI-powered, enterprise-grade content management system. The addition of Next.js support marks it as the industry's first SaaS CMS with integrated multi-technology frontend hosting for flexible development, supporting both upgradeability and backend customisations. This enables organisations to build digital experiences that align with their future growth and business needs.
