Qualtrics modernises research with latest release
Tue, 2nd Jul 2019
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Qualtrics has added new API-driven survey programming capabilities to Qualtrics Research Core, the insights platform designed for professionals and research agencies.

The new capabilities aim to help users spend less time designing surveys and more time on actionable insights for their business or project.

According to the company, the new APIs enable users to automate the creation and launch of surveys, even when it comes to complex research projects.

This is crucial, according to Qualtrics, as it helps users to step away from designing the surveys and more time on deriving insights around customer, brand, product and employee experiences.

APIs allow users to code surveys, both simple and complicated, and control the questions, logic, quotas, branding and other aspects of the survey design.

Qualtrics users are able to do this by calling the APIs in any mainstream programming language of their choice, such as Python, Java, Node JS and more.

Qualtrics vice president of Research Core Kelly Waldher says, “The launch of survey programming capabilities is another example of how Qualtrics is modernising research. By automating an otherwise time-consuming process, this API-driven approach gives researchers the flexibility needed to increase productivity and gain higher quality insights.

“Survey programming joins a series of recent innovations to Qualtrics Research Core, making it a powerful toolkit for the modern researcher,” Waldher says.

The Survey Management APIs are built on modern cloud-based features such as OAUTH authentication, JSON payloads and RESTful design.

These APIs augment developer-friendly APIs launched by Qualtrics for automating the management of users, contacts, mailing lists, responses and other aspects of research workflows.

This allows consumer intelligence platforms to scale their research efforts with fewer resources and errors, according to Qualtrics.

Qualtrics Research Core is built on the Qualtrics XM Platform and, at present, has upwards of hundreds of thousands of users - primarily professionals across enterprises, agencies and academic institutions who are engaged in research of some kind. The platform is used to manage the four core experiences of business, that is customer, employee, product and brand.

One customer, Resonate, is a company that specialises in using big data and survey studies to better understand consumer motivations, values, attitudes and beliefs.

Resonate chief operating officer Andy Hunn says, “At Resonate we deliver hundreds of thousands of custom surveys each year, fielding at scale every day. With Qualtrics' unique survey programming capabilities we are able to automate an otherwise time-consuming process, increasing data quality and accelerating time-to-value.
