Remote unveils Contractor Management Plus to streamline global workforces
Mon, 29th Jan 2024

Remote, the global expert in building, managing, and supporting geographically distributed workforces, has unveiled its latest offering, Contractor Management Plus, designed to assist companies globally in streamlining the management of their contract workforces. Announced on 25 January 2024, the new service offers robust protections against misclassification risk, including integrated global compliance and indemnity coverage of up to USD $1 million.

The service is a critical addition to Remote's global HR platform that businesses across the world utilise to manage their contractors alongside their domestic and international employees efficiently. Notably, Contractor Management Plus provides customers with secure payouts in contractors' local currency. It also includes automatic contractor onboarding and recordkeeping, with the ability to generate localised contracts in over 200 countries.

With global efforts increasing to tackle contractor misclassification, Remote's new service empowers firms to diligently assess and manage misclassification risks. Furthermore, it facilitates the conversion of contractors to full-time employees via the Employer of Record service, if deemed necessary.

Businesses can hence optimise their international growth strategies with greater confidence and operational flexibility, shielded by a USD $1 million indemnity clause that warrants coverage against potential risks of misclassification.

Contractor Management Plus introduces several features aimed at easing the process of managing and remunerating global contractors. Contractors can invoice their clients in a preferred currency with assured payout amounts, with Remote handling of all conversions and covering any potential fluctuations. Businesses can automate the hiring and onboarding process for several contractors globally all at once, including generating and signing contractor agreements, automatic invoice approvals, and automated payment setups.

Moreover, companies can invite contractors to conduct their onboarding self-service and identity verification through Remote, offering a one-stop solution for contractors to streamline their freelance operations.

The advanced Contractor Management Plus is priced at USD $99 per contractor monthly, with the standard management plan available at USD $29 per active contractor monthly. Remote promises companies accessibility to its services with transparent pricing, sparing them of any hidden charges. A free trial spanning 30 days is offered to companies to acquaint themselves with Remote Contractor Management.

Job van der Voort, Co-Founder and CEO of Remote, underlined the hurdles faced by companies when managing global contractors, "Managing global contractors comes with a myriad of challenges, from navigating different regulations to ensuring efficient payment halfway around the world."

Van der Voort further reiterated Remote's commitment to providing a simplified solution to these intricate issues. "We are committed to providing tools that simplify these complex processes and helping companies effortlessly manage their global workforce and stay compliant," he added.

Remote was founded in 2019 by Job van der Voort and Marcelo Lebre and is backed by leading investors, including SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Accel, Sequoia, Index Ventures, Two Sigma Ventures, General Catalyst, and B Capital.
