Thu, 7th Sep 2023

In a strategic move aimed at bolstering its foothold in the Australia and New Zealand markets, global front-runner in geospatial network construction and operation technology, Render Networks, proclaimed the recent appointment of Craig Stephens as the Director of Business Development for Australia and New Zealand. This announcement marks a crucial chapter in Render's burgeoning journey of technological expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.

Craig Stephens is no stranger to the telecommunications sector, boasting a remarkable career that spans three decades. His portfolio reflects substantial experience garnered from serving a blend of global and local companies including illustrious names such as Calix, NEC Australia, and Telstra. His expertise has not only been confined to the Australian market; Stephens has contributed to initiatives in over a dozen countries across the Asia Pacific area. Notably, while at Calix, he was instrumental in the company's metamorphosis into a global beacon of fixed-broadband solutions. Furthermore, his contributions at Tellabs were pivotal in evolving it from a fledgling start-up in Australia to a dynamic organisation housing over 30 employees, notably contributing to a significant transformation of Telstra's core network.

Reflecting on Stephens' illustrious trajectory, Render Networks CEO Sam Pratt expressed his enthusiasm stating, “Render’s innovation journey started in Australia before expanding to the United States where demand for connectivity and rapid infrastructure deployment has never been higher. Craig’s joining represents an opportunity to support and engage with Australia and New Zealand based operators that are now actively planning and building the next generation of communications networks. Craig’s experience in the Asia Pacific telecommunications market is significant and we’re excited for him to replicate some of our overseas success here in ANZ.”

Stephens, who will principally operate out of Melbourne, shared a similar sentiment regarding his new venture, asserting, “A lot of my career has been spent helping US companies break into the Asia Pacific. It’s both refreshing and exciting to work for an Australian company that has already cracked the US market, and is looking to refine and build its presence closer to home.”

Highlighting his forward-thinking approach, he further elaborates, “My philosophy for business building has always been to connect the right people in each organisation to the right partners and outcomes. At Render, I am excited to introduce the same improvements in field productivity and delivery schedules that Render’s technology is achieving across the US to the Australia and New Zealand market.”

This development is the latest in a series of strategic executive appointments from Render Networks in the past half-year, indicating the company's steadfast commitment to fostering innovation and enhancing connectivity solutions in the region.
