Ring has launched two new security cameras in Australia, adding the Outdoor Camera (2nd Gen) and Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera 2K to its 2K camera range.
The Outdoor Camera (2nd Gen) is priced at AUD $179, while the Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera 2K costs AUD $109. The two cameras are designed for different monitoring requirements, with the outdoor model offering multiple power options and the indoor model providing wider room coverage.
The Outdoor Camera (2nd Gen) is available in battery, plug-in and solar configurations. The options allow the camera to be installed in locations where mains power may not be available.
The camera records in Retinal 2K video and offers up to 6x enhanced zoom. It has a 140-degree field of view and true-colour night vision, switching to black and white in near darkness.
The device also includes customisable Privacy Zones and motion settings. Users can receive motion alerts, activate a built-in siren and communicate through two-way talk.
Indoor coverage

The Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera 2K is designed to monitor a wider area from a single position. It provides 360-degree pan coverage and 175 degrees of tilt.
The camera uses computer vision-based motion detection and intelligent tracking to follow movement across a room. Its Auto Tracking feature keeps people centred in the frame as they move.
The camera also includes a built-in privacy shutter that physically disables the camera and microphone when closed.
Both cameras support live view and two-way talk through the Ring app. Their motion detection capabilities can send real-time alerts when movement is detected.
More models
The two cameras expand Ring's existing 2K range ahead of additional products planned for Australia.
The company has indicated that the Outdoor Camera 4K Plus, Spotlight Camera 4K Plus, Floodlight Camera 4K Plus and Indoor Camera 4K will follow.
The planned models will extend the range across different camera designs and 4K resolution, while the latest products add more specialised options to the existing 2K line-up.
For the Outdoor Camera (2nd Gen), the combination of battery, plug-in and solar power is intended to give customers more flexibility when choosing an installation location.
The Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera 2K instead focuses on expanding the area that can be monitored from a fixed indoor position.
Both cameras can store recordings in the cloud for up to 180 days with a Ring Protect plan.
