Riverbed unveils AI-powered platform to optimise digital experiences

Tue, 14th May 2024

Riverbed Technology unwraps an advanced AI-powered observability platform designed to streamline digital experiences for users. The platform addresses customer challenges such as delivering digital experiences, simplifying IT management and delivering AI that scales.

New to the platform are several solutions, each built on open architecture. These include expanded data collection across visibility blind spots, such as public cloud, Zero Trust & SD-WAN architectures, and remote work environments to provide a comprehensive view of IT operations. There's also a unified agent to gather more data without adding agents and a second-generation AIOps engine, Riverbed IQ 2.0.

The platform offers the capability of optimising digital experiences using full-fidelity data and AI to automate the prevention, identification, and resolution of IT issues. New observability solutions boast Aternity Mobile to monitor enterprise mobile device performance and NPM+, a SaaS-delivered service that overcomes network blind spots. In addition, the platform features the Riverbed Unified Agent, which addresses agent fatigue, allowing teams to add more SaaS-based monitoring solutions to gather additional data.

Dave Donatelli, Chief Executive Officer at Riverbed, acknowledged the challenges faced by customers in enhancing the digital experience, simplifying management environments, and implementing scalable AI. "Riverbed has invested in our core competencies around that; today, we are launching our most advanced AI-powered observability platform to optimise digital experiences. Great AI starts with great data, and our platform and visibility solutions provide IT with full-fidelity real data that is the most comprehensive in the industry," Donatelli affirmed.

What sets this platform apart is its high adaptability; it's an open platform, launching with approximately 35 pre-built applications and software integrations. That sees data used in an AIOps engine for analysis, correlation, and subsequent remediation. Furthermore, the Riverbed Platform brings together technologies such as the new Riverbed Unified Agent, which simplifies the deployment and management of visibility solutions, and the Riverbed Data Store, which analyses and reports data for efficiency and improved AI actionability.

The platform also sets a new benchmark with Riverbed Aternity Mobile. This novel mobile monitoring tool helps IT teams monitor digital experience performance issues on enterprise-managed mobile devices and work towards strategic resolution.

Bob Laliberte, Principal Analyst at theCUBE Research, notes the urgent need for robust observability in the complex IT landscape, given distributed infrastructures and hybrid work arrangements. "Riverbed's new AI-powered observability platform optimises digital experiences by leveraging a unified agent, all of Riverbed's existing solutions, new network and mobile solutions, and second-generation AI technology with almost 200 automated responses." Laliberte noted that the platform's open architecture enables organisations to reduce the complexity of supporting highly distributed environments, ultimately driving operational efficiency and business growth.

The Riverbed platform aims to revolutionise the way organisations understand and engage with AI technology, providing them with the tools to optimise digital experiences and resolve IT issues quickly and efficiently.
