ServiceSeeking joins ConnectID for enhanced online security for SMEs

Thu, 25th Apr 2024

ServiceSeeking, an online marketplace for small to medium enterprises (SMEs), joins the digital identity network of ConnectID, providing an enhanced layer of protection for business owners. This move comes as part of an ongoing effort to bolster trust and security, especially in industries heavily reliant on online operations and private space access.

Service providers can now authenticate their identity securely through reliable sources such as their bank. This reduces the need for directly sharing their sensitive data and eliminates the risks of fraud, thereby fostering an ecosystem of solid trust among the stakeholders.

Announcing ServiceSeeking's integration into its network, ConnectID, owned by the Australian Payments Plus (AP+), stated that this development aims to provide a swift, secure, and user-friendly identity verification procedure. This initiative significantly improves the user experience for service providers, limiting the need for manual data entry and reducing the risks associated with the direct sharing of sensitive information.

Oliver Pennington, Co-Founder and Director at ServiceSeeking, said, "We were looking for a reliable and efficient solution to confirm the identities of our business members, as traditional ID verification solutions often depend on manual input of sensitive data like driver's licence or passport details. ConnectID offers our members a faster and secure method while closing avenues for fraudulent activities."

"Trust is of utmost importance in our industry, especially during online transactions or when accessing someone's private space. Digital ID solutions such as ConnectID allow us to dissect trustworthy entities and those we should evade. It assures a safe network for our members," Pennington added.

The integration of ConnectID with ServiceSeeking represents a significant advancement in the realm of digital identity solutions. This sets a new standard for safety and reliability in online interactions for business owners using marketplaces. Service providers can have their identities verified securely, enhancing customer confidence in their chosen trade.

Emphasising the importance of digital identity in building safer online environments, Rick Iversen, Head of Product & Scheme for ConnectID at AP+, said, "We are pleased to welcome ServiceSeeking into the ConnectID network. Joining ConnectID enables organisations to foster trust in their online platforms while reducing the necessity for sharing ID documents."

"Adding ServiceSeeking to ConnectID's ecosystem reflects the potential of digital identity in eliminating the need for businesses to manually gather, store, or validate sensitive documents, reaping the benefits of secure and convenient verification processes," Iversen added.

ConnectID has become the bridge that links businesses with reliable identity data with customer consent, providing a greater control to individuals over their information usage. As an extension of its initiative, ConnectID gives SMEs the confidence to establish and grow securely in an interconnected business space.
