Teletrac Navman unveils AI camera to boost Australian fleet safety

Yesterday

Teletrac Navman has launched the Multi IQ Camera, an AI-powered video telematics system designed to improve fleet safety and operational oversight within Australia's heavy vehicle sector.

The Multi IQ Camera is built to provide a comprehensive 360-degree view of fleet vehicle operations by connecting up to five individual cameras placed around a vehicle, including the cab, sides, rear, cargo area and undercarriage, in addition to the built-in high-definition dual front and driver-facing dashcam. According to Teletrac Navman, this multi-camera arrangement addresses the visibility challenges and significant blind spots often found in trucks and large vehicle combinations.

The system incorporates advanced AI analytics to detect and flag a range of on-road incidents, such as driver drowsiness, distractions, risky driving behaviours, and potential collisions. These events are recorded in high definition and are intended to be used for further driver coaching or for evidentiary purposes if required.

Insights from Teletrac Navman's 2025 Mobilising the Future of Fleets Report highlight the importance of such a system, revealing that 70% of businesses have experienced the impact of distracted driving, with 68% identifying mobile phone use as the leading cause.

The Multi IQ Camera is fully integrated with TN360, Teletrac Navman's fleet management platform, providing a single interface for video footage, location data, and driver and vehicle performance metrics. The integration is designed to help fleet operators manage the increased amount of data produced by a multi-camera system, offering tools that tag incidents for review, support driver training programmes, and help ensure significant events are not missed.

Included as part of the system are new camera health features to provide visibility into whether cameras are unobstructed and fully operational. This feature helps to ensure that operators have immediate access to critical footage and system insights, enabling faster, data-driven decision-making to protect people, assets, and company reputations.

Andrew Rossington, Chief Product Officer at Teletrac Navman, said, "Multi-camera systems are not new, but what we've developed with the Multi IQ Camera is the industry's first fully integrated, AI-enhanced, solution that works seamlessly with TN360 to provide a comprehensive view of the full vehicle footprint. We're giving fleet operators real-time video insight into every angle of their operation with the intelligence to act on it. Whether it's reducing blind spots, coaching drivers, or defending against false claims, this solution drives better safety and operational outcomes for fleet managers and teams."

Rossington added, "Our customers wanted more context, not just more footage, and the Multi IQ Camera delivers exactly that. By seeing more, knowing more, and acting faster, fleet managers are not only improving safety, but gaining the insights they need to run a smarter business."

Alongside the Multi IQ Camera, a number of peripherals will be available, such as additional cameras and an accessible driver input button, expanding the system's functionality for diverse transport settings.
