Zoom appoints Frank Skiffington to lead ANZ growth
Mon, 13th Apr 2026
Zoom has appointed Frank Skiffington as Head of Australia and New Zealand, overseeing the company's operations across the ANZ market.
Based in Sydney, Skiffington reports to Steve Rafferty, Zoom's Head of APAC and EMEA. He will lead market strategy, customer and partner engagement, and broader adoption of Zoom's products among small and medium-sized businesses and enterprise customers in Australia and New Zealand.
The appointment gives Zoom a new regional leader as it looks to strengthen its position in the communications software market, spanning workplace collaboration, phone services and customer contact tools. It also places a veteran sales and channel executive in charge of a market where partner relationships remain central to software distribution and customer acquisition.
Skiffington brings more than 25 years of experience leading sales and channel teams across the UK, ANZ, Asia Pacific and the Americas. He has held senior roles at Secureco, Cogent and Mitel, where he focused on partner-led sales strategies, enterprise customer growth and broader go-to-market changes.
Regional focus
A key part of the role is deepening engagement with customers and partners while expanding adoption across both the SMB and enterprise segments. The move builds on Zoom's existing customer base in ANZ and its broader regional partner network.
That emphasis reflects the structure of the local technology market, where resellers, service providers and channel partners often play a major role in delivering communications and software services to businesses. For vendors such as Zoom, regional leadership appointments often point to a sharper focus on sales execution and partner management rather than a change in product direction.
Rafferty described the hire as an important step for the business in the region.
"Frank brings deep regional expertise and a strong track record of helping organisations transform how they connect, collaborate and deliver meaningful outcomes," said Steve Rafferty, Head of APAC and EMEA, Zoom. "He will be instrumental in expanding Zoom's customer base across ANZ, accelerating partner-led growth and driving SMB adoption, while continuing to support our enterprise customers to work faster and smarter by moving conversations into outcomes with the Zoom platform," said Rafferty.
Career background
Skiffington has worked across telecommunications and technology businesses, with experience spanning unified communications, software-as-a-service and managed services. That background is expected to support Zoom's efforts to reach both larger corporate buyers and smaller businesses in ANZ.
Zoom has increasingly positioned itself as more than a video meetings provider, adding products in areas such as cloud telephony, contact centre software and AI-based workplace communication tools. In ANZ, those categories are contested by a mix of global software groups and established telecoms providers, making local execution and channel reach important factors for growth.
Skiffington said the company's direction was a factor in his decision to join.
"Zoom's evolution into an AI-powered system of action has made it an essential means of connection for all businesses looking to modernise the way they work, connect their people and unlock greater productivity," said Frank Skiffington, Head of Australia and New Zealand, Zoom. "I am incredibly proud to join Zoom at such a pivotal time for its ANZ growth and look forward to leading a dynamic team to drive value, innovation and scale with the Zoom ecosystem," added Skiffington.
ANZ has become an important part of the wider Asia Pacific strategy for global workplace software providers, as organisations in the region continue to review communications platforms, hybrid work arrangements and customer service systems. This leadership change comes as Zoom looks to extend its presence through both direct customer relationships and its partner network.
Before joining Zoom, Skiffington built teams across several regions and worked on sales strategies designed to scale through indirect channels. His appointment suggests the company sees that experience as relevant to the next phase of its expansion in Australia and New Zealand, where software vendors are under pressure to show steady customer growth across both mid-market and enterprise accounts.
He takes up the post immediately from Sydney.
