Verizon & Honeywell collaborate on new retail tech bundle

Today

Verizon and Honeywell have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing technology experiences for retail and logistics companies with a new bundled offering.

This collaboration combines Honeywell's hardware, software, and services with Verizon's high-speed 5G connectivity. The aim is to streamline retail processes and simplify procurement and device management for businesses. The solution is designed to future-proof operations by offering an easier path to device and data plan expansions.

An important advantage of this new bundled solution is its contribution to increased business resiliency. In scenarios such as a mid-sized garden centre retailer experiencing a power loss, the bundled Verizon 5G plan and Honeywell devices enable continued operations of point-of-sale systems, thereby minimising sales disruptions.

David Barker, President of Honeywell Productivity Solutions and Services, conveyed that the partnership would help companies maintain effective resilience plans. "Our collaboration with Verizon will help retailers and logistics companies maintain an effective resiliency plan for unexpected disruptions," he stated. "By bundling services, we are also reducing the number of parties involved and steps it takes to purchase a full solution that often requires several key technologies, enabling businesses to stay up-to-date with important technology refreshes and avoiding difficult CAPEX budgeting cycles."

Massimo Peselli, Chief Revenue Officer, Global Enterprise and Public Sector, Verizon Business, highlighted the benefits for companies in terms of operational efficiency. "Companies of all sizes are looking at ways to reduce the time and effort it takes to make key technology purchases so they can get their operations up and running promptly," he said. "By offering a fully managed services solution at a single monthly price with Honeywell, our retail and logistics customers can focus more on their return on investment and driving business outcomes."

The Honeywell-Verizon bundled solution is tailored to meet the needs of retail and logistics companies across various sizes. Some of the cited benefits include simplified procurement with a single point of contact, enhanced connectivity through Verizon's 5G network, and comprehensive device management provided by Honeywell's Enterprise Mobility Services. This encompasses key aspects such as device configuration, deployment, and management, all contributing to improved operational efficiency. The bundled solution also promises scalability to accommodate businesses ranging from small enterprises to large corporations.

The new managed services offering from Honeywell and Verizon is expected to become available through Honeywell and its network of resellers in early 2025.
