Fujitsu launches dedicated AWS cloud practice in Australia

Mon, 21st Oct 2024

Fujitsu has announced the establishment of a dedicated AWS practice in Australia, aimed at providing organisations with comprehensive cloud solutions.

The introduction of this AWS practice comes as the Australian cloud market is projected to reach AUD $38.1 billion by 2027, according to IDC. The practice will offer a full range of AWS solutions, encompassing technical services, design, implementation, management, and optimisation.

Graeme Beardsell, Chief Executive Officer of Fujitsu Asia Pacific, commented on the development, stating, "The Fujitsu AWS practice will help businesses of all sizes unlock the full potential of the cloud, enabling them to be more agile, innovative, and competitive." According to Beardsell, the AWS practice enhances Fujitsu's Digital Acceleration Services, which are crucial for delivering digital transformations across various sectors.

The AWS practice at Fujitsu will be headed by Daniel Wundersitz and Mark Telkes, both with extensive backgrounds in the industry. Daniel Wundersitz, as AWS Practice Lead, has previously co-developed and managed a significant AWS operation within another major technology company in Australia. Mark Telkes, joining as Senior Sales Executive, brings his expertise in senior business development within the AWS environment.

Daniel Wundersitz expressed, "Australia has a range of AWS system integrators. Very few can offer the experience, scale, depth, and breadth of a global digital transformation partner like Fujitsu. We are a trusted advisor for customers across many sectors including enterprise, public sector, and defence."

As a Premier AWS Partner, Fujitsu also holds the statuses of Advanced Consulting Partner and Amazon Connect Partner. The company offers a variety of technical services, including cloud optimisation, migration, managed services, and contact centre solutions through Amazon Connect.

Fujitsu has a history of delivering successful solutions across various industries, including defence, health, retail, and financial services. The company's partnerships extend beyond AWS, with Fujitsu being recognised by Microsoft, SAP, and ServiceNow for its capabilities in digital transformation.

In recent expansions, Fujitsu launched Cyber Security Services to support organisations in Australia and New Zealand, providing comprehensive cyber security solutions such as threat intelligence and digital forensics.

Additionally, Fujitsu is investing in cutting-edge technologies like quantum computing. In collaboration with the Australian National University (ANU), Fujitsu is developing a centre for quantum research with plans to potentially establish an onsite quantum computer.

Fujitsu states the company's purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. Fujitsu's range of services and solutions draw on five key technologies: Computing, Networks, AI, Data & Security, and Converging Technologies, which we bring together to deliver sustainability transformation.
